Quatuor Akilone
The Quatuor Akilone was born from a musical and human adventure in 2011 in Paris. Elegant play, generous sound and alert minds animate this quartet that adds poetry and depth to the works the four young ladies choose to play. Four different persons and four different personalities that melt into ONE 16-string instrument and 40 fingers.
The four musicians were inside the ECMA under the guidance of Hatto Beyerle whom they still visit regularly. They also benefitted from growing with outstanding chamber artists such as Vladimir Mendelssohn, Johannes Meissl, Mathieu Herzog and the Ebene and Rosamunde quartets. Being on stage with other musicians is paramount for the quartet who has already had the privilege of playing along with Tabea Zimmermann, Jérôme Pernoo, David Walter, Sharon Kam, Pavel Gililov and Jean-François Heisser.
Akilone won the First Prize and the Proquartet Prize at the eighth International String Quartet Competition in Bordeaux in 2016. They have since then been performing across Europe and Japan. They also are in residence at Proquartet-CEMC and members of Génération Spedidam. They have also been the laureate of the Banque populaire Foundation since 2017 and of the Forte Fund in 2018. The quartet is part of « Le Dimore del Quartetto » project in Italy.
In parallel with its international career, the quartet expresses the need to weave a complicity with listeners. It therefore opens up its « singing » to all sorts of audiences thanks to its partnerships with the Concerts de Poche and Musethica associations.

Le Quatuor Akilone est le fruit d’une aventure musicale et humaine née en 2011 à Paris. Un jeu élégant, un son généreux et un esprit éveillé animent cet ensemble pour apporter poésie et profondeur aux oeuvres qu’il aborde. Quatre personnes et quatre caractères pour ne former qu’un instrument à 16 cordes… et 40 doigts !
Guidées au sein de l’ECMA par Hatto Beyerle avec qui elles échangent encore régulièrement, elles ont également grandi auprès d’éminents chambristes tels Vladimir Mendelssohn, Johannes Meissl, Mathieu Herzog, les quatuors Ebène et Rosamunde. Partager la scène avec d’autres musiciens est essentiel pour ce quatuor qui a déjà eu la chance de jouer aux côtés de Tabea Zimmermann, Jérôme Pernoo, David Walter, Sharon Kam, Pavel Gililov et Jean François Heisser.
Premier Grand Prix et prix Proquartet du 8ème Concours international de Quatuor à cordes de Bordeaux en 2016, le Quatuor Akilone se produit depuis en Europe et au Japon. Il est également résident à Proquartet-CEMC, Génération Spedidam et lauréat de la Fondation Banque Populaire depuis 2017 et du fond FoRTE. Le Quatuor fait partie du projet Le Dimore del Quartetto.
Parallèlement à une carrière internationale et poussé par le besoin de tisser un lien complice avec l’auditeur, le Quatuor Akilone ouvre son « chant » à tout type de public grâce à sa collaboration avec les associations Les Concerts de Poche et Musethica.
Akilone sur un fil, un jeu tout en couleur, qui permet d’avoir la tête dans les nuages tout en gardant les pieds sur terre…
